A UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) Minister has condemned the murder of the Deputy Minister . . .[restrict]of Industry Hassan Al-Darole and voiced concern about the recent tribal clashes in Sebha.
“I condemn the murder of Deputy Minister of Industry Hassan al-Drowi in Sirte on Saturday,” said FCO Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Hugh Robertson, in a statement released today. “It is vital that the perpetrators are brought to justice.”
Robertson said he was “very concerned” about the recent fighting in Sebha which has left 31 people dead. “I call on all sides to resolve their differences peacefully,” he said. “Our thoughts are with those that have been killed and injured and their families.”
Robertson also reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting the Libyan authorities in their continued efforts to build a more stable and secure Libya. [/restrict]
