Tripoli, 3 September 2103:
A Pakistani who had just flown back to Tripoli was killed yesterday on his way . . .[restrict]into town by gunmen attempting to steal the car he was in.
The incident happened on the Swani Road shortly before 2pm. A vehicle began to chase the car belonging to the Misrata-based North Africa Equipment Company. The driver, realising that something was amiss, attempted to get away but gunmen in the other vehicle then began to shoot, eyewitnesses said.
The Pakistani man was shot in the head and died instantly. The driver was shot in the leg and stomach but managed to drive to hospital where he was treated.
Reports initially stated that the dead man was from Bangladesh.
