Tripoli, 23 August 2013:
A man said to have been in the military police during the Qaddafi era and a . . .[restrict]member of a Qaddafi brigade during the revolution has been kidnapped in his home area of Fashloum in Tripoli. Lutfi Almaki Al-Awaj, in his thirties, disappeared last Sunday.
Neighbours noted that the man had become rich during the revolution. They said that the Lutfi’s family had told them that they had received an anonymous phone call from unknown people but did not divulge what was said.
On Wednesday, the kidnapped man’s family organised a street protest in Fashloum to try and secure his release but to no effect. [/restrict]
