Tripoli, 13 June 2013:
Employees of the Rural Bank went on strike today demanding pay rise and an Extraordinary General Meeting of . . .[restrict]shareholders as quickly as possible to appoint a board of directors to run the bank instead of the current steering committee. They also demanded further investment in the bank which is supposed to focus on microcredits.
The protestors are reported to be angry about accusations that they have have been giving loans to friends and family rather than the general public.
They say that the strike will continue all next week and until 22 June. [/restrict]
