Tripoli, 24 April 2013:
The Libyan coastguard yesterday captured two Egyptian boats attempting to smuggle sheep into Libya, off the coast of Tobruk.
The two boats were spotted in Libyan territorial waters and, after a chase, were captured by the coastguard, Navy Chief of Staff spokesman, Ayoub Omar Qasim, told the Libyan news agency LANA.
One of the new coastguard boats recently purchased by the Libyan Navy was used in yesterday’s operation. Four more of these boats are expected to be delivered next Thursday. [/restrict]
