HoR Members, Benghazi Municipality and Benghazi Chamber meet British business delegation visiting Benghazi

A high-level delegation from the United Kingdom comprising:

– Daniel Kawczynski – Chairman of the Libyan British Development Association (LBDA) and former Member of the British House of Commons.

– Mark Field – Politician, former Member of Parliament, and former Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific.

– Tristan Beniston-Bird – UK-based expert in strategic communications and public affairs.

Met with the Municipality of Benghazi, Benghazi Chamber of Commerce and relevant House of Representatives Committees during their visit to Benghazi that started yesterday.

Municipality of Benghazi
According to the Municipality, yesterday’s meeting discussed the stability currently prevailing in Benghazi, which enabled the successful holding of municipal elections, demonstrating that elections in Libya are possible whenever a safe and stable environment is provided.

This also creates a suitable environment for institutions to function and for reconstruction to proceed.

The municipality’s official spokesperson affirmed that Benghazi is moving steadily towards a new phase of construction, international cooperation, and sustainable development.

Benghazi Chamber of Commerce
The British delegation also met Benghazi Chamber of Commerce yesterdayto discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation and explore future partnership opportunities between the two sides.

Investment project in importing and manufacturing paint materials
During the meeting, the delegation expressed its desire to implement an investment project in the field of importing and manufacturing paint materials within Libya, with the aim of establishing a local factory and expanding into neighbouring markets.

For his part, the Chairman of the Benghazi Chamber affirmed his full support for the project and its readiness to facilitate communication with specialized companies, contributing to the success of the initiative and boosting economic activity in Benghazi.

The meeting also included a review of the most prominent investment opportunities available in the city and an emphasis on the importance of building effective and sustainable communication channels between the two sides, which will strengthen international partnerships and support economic development efforts.

HoR Committees meet British delegation
The British delegation also met House of Representatives (HoR) Committees, including:

– The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Youssef Al-Aqouri.

– The Chairman of the Committee for Monitoring Regulatory Bodies, Zayed Hadiya

– The Vice Chairman of the Education Affairs Committee, Sultana Al-Mismari

– Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Al-Saleheen Abdel-Nabi.

The HoR said the meeting aimed to enhance cooperation in the fields of development, reconstruction, education, and investment.
