The Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba witnessed the launch yesterday of the Ministry of Health’s “100-Day” strategy for reform priorities in the health sector, coinciding with the inauguration of over 20 health facilities across the country. The event was attended by several specialists and department directors from the Ministry.

During the event, the Acting Minister / Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Al-Ghouj, presented the details of the strategy to the Prime Minister. The strategy aims to address urgent priorities within the health sector, enhance performance efficiency in hospitals and health centers, and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.

The Undersecretary explained that the plan is based on implementing a specific set of measures over a 100-day period. These measures include the maintenance and equipping of facilities, support for emergency and intensive care units, strengthening medical supplies, and activating training and qualification programmes. The plan also includes establishing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure adherence to the timeline.

The Undersecretary confirmed that the Ministry has already begun implementing several projects included in the strategy by completing maintenance and modernization work, providing essential supplies to facilities, and addressing several priority operational and administrative issues.
