In response to a parliamentary question regarding the status of the Tunisian National Railway Company (SNCFT). the Tunisian Ministry of Transport announced studies for a railway connection project with Libya and Algeria.
The Ministry revealed that it is making efforts to secure funding for a preliminary study to establish a high-performance railway corridor linking the north and south of the country, connecting the railway network to the Algerian and Libyan borders.
It further revealed that the study is estimated to cost approximately ten million dinars and that the tender documents for selecting the consulting firm have been prepared and are currently under review.
