The General Staff of the Tripoli based Libyan Army reported yesterday that the Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush held two separate meetings yesterday in which he vowed to support the Air Force and the Navy.
During the meeting on the Air Force held in the presence of Brigadier General Mukhtar Osman, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and a number of specialized officers of the Air Force, the training track for pilots at the Air College and ways to provide the necessary training aircraft were discussed.
Pilot training
During the meeting, the participants reviewed the approved training track for pilots at the Air College, according to the training stages (primary, basic, advanced), in terms of the duration of time and the scheduled flight hours for each stage, in order to ensure the qualification of pilots according to the approved standards.
Need for training planes
The issue of supplying the training planes needed for the various stages of training was also discussed, with the aim of supporting the training process and raising the efficiency of the Air College.
The Chief of the General Staff affirmed his full support for the supply of training aircraft urgently, and work to activate the Air College as soon as possible, stressing the need to pay attention to the new officers and enrol them in specialized training courses that contribute to raising their level and qualifying them well for the service of the Air Force.
The Navy
Separately, Chief of the General Staff al-Namroush, held a meeting on the same day with the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces, Major General Eng. Noureddine al-Bouni, in the presence of several specialized officers, as part of the follow-up about the naval forces and their operational readiness.
Maintenance of some marine vessels
The meeting discussed a number of problems that hinder the progress of the work of the naval forces, foremost of which is the maintenance of some marine vessels and the possibility of benefiting from them in the implementation of maritime patrols, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of performance and enhancing the tasks of maritime insurance.
Completing a number of ground constructions
The meeting also addressed the file of completing a number of ground constructions necessary to support the infrastructure of the naval forces, in line with the work requirements and contribute to improving the performance environment and technical and logistical readiness.
During the meeting, the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army stressed the importance of overcoming the existing difficulties and developing practical solutions to support the naval forces and enable them to perform their national tasks efficiently and competently.
