‘‘U.S. experts’’ visit Sirte’s single pivot agricultural irrigation circles – 87 irrigation circles will be restarted in 2025

Signing a contract to renovate and develop the Mahari Hotel and the guest palaces area in Sirte, in line with Libya’s 2030 Vision.

The Sirte based and Hafter-controlled National Development Authority (NDA), represented by the General Manager, reported yesterday that it had signed a contract a major Turkish company specializing in hotel construction and investment development.

The contract aims to implement a comprehensive project to renovate and develop the Mahari Hotel in Sirte and the Guest Palaces area next to Sirte Free Zone port.

The project, the NDA reports, aims to rehabilitate the hotel and guest palaces and transform them into a modern and advanced hospitality facility that meets international standards and the quality of work in the hotel sector.

This, it added, will prepare it to attract a global hotel brand or international hotel chain to manage and operate it in the future.

The Mahari Hotel consists of 55 hotel rooms, four administrative offices, and a 50-seat meeting room. The development works include a complete redesign of the interior spaces, a renovation of the exterior facade, and the implementation of landscaping and gardening works. It also includes updating the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and installing modern furniture and fixtures to reflect a contemporary hotel identity.

In addition to the Presidential Guest Palaces area, which includes 100 A-palaces, 54 B-palaces, and 80 C-palaces, it will be a dedicated business area for entrepreneurship in the Sirte Free Zone.

This project falls within the framework of Libya’s Vision 2030, adopted by the NDA, as part of its efforts to stimulate tourism development and enhance infrastructure and hotel services in Sirte and the central regions of the country.
