The President of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) and the Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister adopted yesterday the first prototype of the National Strategy for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption (2025-2030).
The step is aimed at enhancing transparency and integrity, developing control systems and improving administrative performance., and keeping pace with international standards stipulated in the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
The signing of the protocol came within the framework of integrated efforts to unify national plans to confront corruption and reduce its effects, based on international conventions and relevant local legislation, especially the law establishing the Anti-Corruption Commission of 2005.
The strategy seeks to translate national anti-corruption objectives into practical and implementable policies, through plans involving all state institutions, with the participation of relevant parties in the public and private sectors, and civil society.
The document is the result of joint work between the working groups of the two authorities, and is based on the results of the National Corruption Risk Assessment, which was completed in December 2024, and included 32 government agencies.
