Germany’s GIZ launches Libya IT sector survey to assess employment potential, identify training gaps

Last Tuesday (6 May), the Libyan Ministry of Environment hosted a high-level strategic seminar in Tripoli underscoring the country’s ongoing commitment to the Paris Agreement, which it ratified in 2021.

Co-implementors, Germany’s GIZ Libya, reports that the seminar represents a key step toward fulfilling the commitment, particularly through advancing the development of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) as part of Libya’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

The event concluded with the endorsement of key adaptation measures and the identification of national priorities. Libya reaffirmed its dedication to Climate Action and emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation with international partners to support the implementation of high-priority measures.

The seminar was attended by several senior officials, including Ibrahim Al-Arabi, Minister of Environment of Libya, Nicola Orlando, Ambassador of the European Union to Libya and Ralph Tarraf, Ambassador of Germany to Libya.
