Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, followed up in a meeting last Monday (4 November) on 81 new bridge construction projects in the transportation sector, including 47 bridges within the Third Ring Road project.
The meeting included Minister of Transport and Financial Advisor to Prime Minister, Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, Acting Minister of Planning, Mohammed Al-Zaidani, Head of the Executive Team for PM’s Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Mana, and Director of the Transport Projects Implementation Authority, Sami Al-Abash.
Projects distributed over 9 Libyan cities
The Tripoli government reported that these projects are distributed over 9 Libyan cities, covering a total length of 50 kilometres. The Transport Projects Implementation Authority supervised the implementation of 17 projects, while the Housing and Infrastructure Board (HIB) was tasked with implementing 64 projects.
Fair distribution of projects across Libyan
During the meeting, Aldabaiba stressed the importance of the fair distribution of these projects over the entire Libyan geographical area, pointing to the need to adhere to the principles of disclosure and transparency and involving the regulatory and administrative authorities to ensure that the aspirations of citizens are met.
Projects to meet Libya’s growing transport needs
The Tripoli government said these projects aim to meet the growing transport needs, achieve greater comfort and safety for citizens, and contribute to improving the quality of life by enhancing the country’s road and transportation infrastructure.
