The Libyan Businessmen’s Council (LBC) reported yesterday that on the occasion of the resumption of the work of the Serbian embassy in Tripoli, and the transfer of its services from Tunisia, including its consular section services, the Ambassador of Serbia, Dragon Todorovic, visited the LBC yesterday. He was received by LBC Executive Director Al-Motasem Bellah Dhawi.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries and support for trade and economic programmes, were discussed. The ambassador expressed his happiness at returning to work in Libya based on his previous experience working at the Serbian embassy in Tripoli, and his good relations with Libyan institutions and bodies in the public and private sectors. He stressed his interest in economic cooperation and empowering the private sector in the two countries to support this sector, as well as interest in exchanging delegations and visits between the two countries.
For his part, the LBC Executive Director gave an overview of the LBC and its objectives and stressed its support for cooperation between the two countries and the provision of all facilities in this regard. He also stressed the increase in trade exchange between the two countries and the provision of investment opportunities for Serbian companies and business owners and the need to start consular work to start issuing visas from the embassy, as well as emphasizing cooperation with LBC members, companies and factories in the following areas:
- Transfer of Serbian experience in the field of technical support for the industrial sector, heavy machinery, training and qualification in this field.
- Medical tourism and exchange of tourist delegations between the two countries.
- Inviting Serbian companies to work in the field of construction, roads and bridges inside Libya.
- Opening new horizons for investment opportunities in both countries.
- Inviting food factories to work from inside Libya as a gateway to Africa.
