Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported Friday that its subsidiary, Sirte Oil Company, succeeded in achieving high and unprecedented results for one of the closed wells in the Ziltun field.
It reported that after the local technical teams and engineers conducted a thorough and extensive study, the maintenance process for well C258H-6 was completed using the Workover Rig maintenance platform. Through this, the water producing Ziltun layer was isolated and the upper Harash layer was completed, and an Acid Stimulation Process carried out.
3,326 bpd without accompanying water
The NOC reported that the well’s productivity reached 3,326 barrels of 100 percent crude oil per day without any accompanying water. This was according to testing and evaluation using a moving test separator through a 48/64-inch throttle at a pressure of 527 pounds per square inch (normal flow).
The well, the NOC pointed out, has been closed since April 2013 due to weak production and the large amount of accompanying water production, which reached more than 97 percent of the Ziltun layer, which was isolated after maintenance.
