Nafusah Oil Operations begins connecting fields to El-Feel pipeline – Mellitah complex to transport 10,000 barrels per day early 2024

Nafusah Oil Operations began connecting its oil fields to the El-Feel (Elephant) pipeline and on to the Mellitah complex to transport 10,000 barrels per day by early 2024.

The Director of North Hamada Field Development Operations of the Nafusah Oil Operations Company, Mohamed Al-Mabrouk, stated in an exclusive interview with Libya Herald that the plan was to connect the North Hamada fields to crude transportation lines.

He said preliminary inspection work was completed on the 30-inch diameter oil line extending from the El Feel field to the Mellitah complex of the Mellitah Oil and Gas Company at the specified connection points with the North Hamada field’s 12-inch diameter production line belonging to the Nafusa Oil Operations. This is currently being extended from the site of the treatment and pumping station in the North Hamada field to the point of connection with the El-Feel – Mellitah line, with a length of 51 km.

Al-Mabrouk indicated that all excavation and detection work has been completed to determine the thickness of the line and ensure that it conforms to the specifications of the connection process, under the supervision and approval of a joint work team from Nafusa Oil Operations Company, Mellitah Oil and Gas Company, and the contractor implementing the North Hamada Line Project, Italy’s Bonati and Germany’s Ferrostaal companies.

Al-Mabrouk confirmed that the connection process will be carried out at the end of October by the international company TTA in preparation for the completion of the North Hamada field shipping line and the start of pumping by the end of this year. At the same time, the work of installing well complexes and extending the sub-assembly line and the main shipping line is progressing well. He said the wells are ready to gradually begin production to reach a production rate of 10,000 barrels per day, after installing the early production station by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
