The German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, and the Commercial Attaché at the embassy, Shiraz Qazi, visited the Zliten Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture on Tuesday, 22 May, where they were received by the Mayor of Zliten Municipality, Moftah Hammadi, the Director General, Awad Al-Sharif, and the members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Commenting on the visit, Jalal Bani, a member of the Board of Directors of the Zliten Chamber of Commerce, told the Libya Herald, this visit is part of the activities supervised by the Zliten Chamber of Commerce. It aims to introduce the chamber and its affiliated businessmen, companies and factories, and the possibilities available for investment in various fields and the economic resources available for the success of any type of investment, whether industrial, commercial or service.

Zliten chamber played an important role in revitalising the local economy
He said Zliten Chamber of Commerce has played an important role in revitalizing the local economy and integrating with the rest of the chambers of commerce in Libya. It aims to open doors for establishing various economic projects with internal or external participation or with direct foreign investment, especially in light of the availability of encouraging legislation and various economic resources.

Zliten’s good investment climate
Bani said there is a good climate for investment, especially with the existence of general security stability in Libya, especially in the city of Zliten, where there are many large industrial investments in food and agricultural manufacturing, cement, and iron factories, in addition to the uniqueness of the city in trading many building materials.

Several banks opened in Zliten
He highlighted the opening of several Libyan banks with branches inside the city of Zliten to facilitate the transfer of funds inside and outside Libya and to provide high-quality banking services to local as well as foreign investors.
