Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce signs MoU with its Lebanese counterpart in several breakthrough areas

The Libyan Union of Chambers of Commerce signs a broad MoU with its Lebanese counterpart (Flags: Crossed Flag Pins).

The head of the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Mohamed Raied, signed an MoU with the head of the Lebanese Union of Chambers of Commerce, Mohamed Choucair, stipulating the speedy start of direct flights procedures and facilitating the procedures for treating oncology patients in internationally accredited Lebanese hospitals

In the meeting in Beirut, the possibility of enhancing private sector cooperation in both countries, achieving a level of economic integration in many fields, including medicine, hospital management, and facilitating medical tourism for Libyans in internationally accredited Lebanese clinics, especially in the areas of oncology, infertility, diseases of the bones, nerves, eyes and heart.

In this regard, Raied expressed his satisfaction with Lebanon’s readiness to respond to the calls of the Federation of Chambers to facilitate the treatment of patients, especially oncology patients, stressing that this file is a Libyan priority.

Flights, shipping line and postgraduate study
Raied, accompanied by the delegation accompanying him, reached several agreements with the Lebanese party, in addition to an agreement on the health file, including that the Lebanese Chambers Union communicate with the competent authorities, and hold technical meetings to facilitate the procedures for starting direct flights, in addition to working on operating a passenger shipping line from Tripoli West to Tripoli East, and facilitating procedures for Libyan students wishing to study at university to obtain master’s and doctoral degrees in Lebanese universities with international classification.

Trade and Investment Council and a ”Made in Lebanon” show
The two parties also agreed to establish a permanent platform for meeting, dialogue and organizing various commercial activities, under the name of the Lebanese-Libyan Cooperation Council for Trade and Investment. A preliminary understanding to organize a joint cooperation forum for trade and investment, in which Libyan and Lebanese presidents, institutions, specialists, officials, businessmen and investors will participate, on the 20 or 21 of December this year in Beirut. It was also proposed that a commercial show in Libya under the name “Made in Lebanon” be organised, and its date was proposed in mid-March of next year.
