Libya’s state Afriqiyah Airways will start a direct flight from Benghazi’ Benina airport to Istanbul starting from Saturday 18 June.

The airliner said this is to allow its customers to enjoy their summer vacation.

A direct flight from Benghazi, an eastern Libyan city under the military control of Khalifa Hafter, to Istanbul, is further evidence of the complete turnaround of Turkish relations with eastern Libya and a change of old Libyan political narrative to a more nuanced one.
