Libya’s Minister of Transport Mohamed Al-Shahubi, received in his office yesterday Turkish Ambassador Kenan Yilmaz.
The meeting discussed several common topics, including the need to restart Turkish flights between the two countries as soon as possible, after the submission of the Audit Committee report, which recently visited Mitiga and Misrata airports with regard to security, technical and safety aspects.
The Minister urged the Turkish ambassador to help lift the air ban on Libyan airspace, and it was also agreed to modernize civil aviation systems and equipment that require high standards in security and occupational safety, as well as training and qualifying air navigation crews in accordance with international standards for civil aviation.
The Minister stressed the need for Turkish companies to return to work to participate in the reconstruction of Libya in the areas affected by the wars.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister invited the Ambassador to visit the Misrata marine passenger station in an effort to open a marine line from Misrata – Turkey.
