London, 12 March 2021:

The newly endorsed Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, expressed his dissatisfaction with country’s anti-Coronavirus effort so far.

The revelation was made during his meeting yesterday with Dr. Khalifa Al-Bakoush, Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee to Combat the Coronavirus Pandemic, and Dr. Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, Director of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The meeting discussed the national plan prepared by the Scientific Committee and the NCDC to vaccinate against the Coronavirus in accordance with the priorities prepared for this, as well as the mechanisms that will be adopted to distribute the vaccine.

The material and logistical needs required to provide the necessary quantities and to ensure that the vaccine reaches all citizens throughout the country were also assessed.

The Prime Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the reports he had seen regarding the budgets that were purportedly spent on dealing with the Corona pandemic without actual results on the ground. He made it clear that managing the crisis in this way will not be acceptable after today, the GNU reported yesterday.
