London, 9 December 2020:

Mustafa Sanalla, chairman of Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC), held a virtual meeting with the British Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Libya, Damian Moore yesterday.

Strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two sides and the return of British companies specialized in the oil and energy field to work in Libya, and the opening of new prospects for investments, were discussed.

Cooperation in the field of training and human resources was also discussed, in order to build capacity and develop Libyan cadres in the oil and gas sector in British universities, centres and institutes.

The NOC reported that Trade Envoy Damian Moore explained that Britain is seriously seeking to establish new economic and trade partnerships with several countries, including Libya, with which it has excellent relations. Damian expressed his happiness that the NOC is seeking to expand its investment base through cooperation with the British side.

Sanalla thanked and appreciated the support provided by the United Kingdom to the NOC and its support to Libya, pointing out that the NOC Board of Directors is determined to expand the partnership base with the British side in the field of energy, by using the great expertise of British companies in the oil and technology industry and bringing it to the Libyan oil sector.
