The Minister of Housing and Reconstruction, Essam Al-Tamouni, held a meeting last Sunday (9 August) with a representative from the German company Max-truder—which specializes in manufacturing plants for precast structural elements and prefabricated buildings—in the presence of the Minister’s Technical Affairs Advisor.
The meeting addressed prospects for cooperation to leverage these manufacturing facilities in support of the construction sector, as well as the potential to implement several proposed projects using prefabricated building technology across various regions of Libya.
Max-truder does not directly construct prefabricated buildings itself. Instead, the German engineering firm manufactures the modular machinery, extrusion systems, and complete factory plants used by construction companies to efficiently produce precast concrete elements like hollow core slabs, walls, and structural pillars for building projects.
The Ministry is hoping it can take advantage of these as part of the Tripoli government’s 150,000-unit house-building initiative.
