Libya’s state telecoms holding company, LPTIC, held a meeting chaired by its Chairman, Ali Ben Gharbia, and attended by the chairmen and general managers of the sector's companies, alongside Nokia’s Regional Director.
The meeting aimed to explore prospects for cooperation and ways to develop Libya's telecommunications infrastructure.
Discussions focused on plans to modernize telecommunications networks—with an emphasis on 5G technologies—to improve service quality, enhance network efficiency, and support digital transformation, all in alignment with LPTIC’s vision for developing the telecoms and information technology sector.
During the meeting, Ben Gharbia emphasized the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships with leading global companies and leveraging the latest technologies and international expertise. He highlighted how such collaboration supports development projects and elevates the telecoms services provided to citizens and institutions across Libya.
For his part, Nokia’s Regional Director presented the company’s latest solutions and technologies in the field of 5G networks. He affirmed Nokia’s readiness to enhance cooperation with LPTIC and sector affiliates, keeping pace with global advancements and contributing to the construction of a modern, sustainable digital infrastructure.
LPTIC said the meeting is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with international partners and accelerate the development of the telecoms sector, thereby supporting Libya’s progress in development and digital transformation.
