The Man-Made River Authority (MMR) reported yesterday that a power cut to the Sarir-Tazerbo-Benghazi system reports a power outage – the fourth in a week
The power cut was caused by the disconnection of electrical circuits between the cities of Ajdabiya and Jalu at 5:00 am this Friday, 24.
This incident resulted in all wells at the Sarir and Tazerbo fields going out of service.
The MMR said the outage is creating difficulties in managing the water balance and supplying water to cities and projects.
Power was restored
Power was restored to the Sarir well field at 9:00 AM, and work crews immediately deployed to restart operations. Electricity returned to the Tazerbo well field at 11:00 AM, and operations there are awaiting voltage stabilization before restart procedures can begin.
The MMR reiterated this situation is beyond its control.
