The Southern Development Authority reported yesterday that its chairman, and Tripoli based Libyan Deputy Prime Minister, Salem Al-Zadma, received the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Libya, Mohamad Habibullah.

This came within the framework of strengthening international partnerships in support of the development process and discussing the prospects of cooperation in the implementation of several development projects, especially in the southern region.

The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation in several priority development sectors, in order to contribute to supporting sustainable development efforts and improving the level of services, in addition to discussing mechanisms to benefit from Bangladeshi expertise in the implementation of development programmes and projects of common interest.

Al-Zadma stressed that the Tripoli government pays special attention to the development of the southern region, by expanding partnerships with friendly countries and benefiting from their experiences in the implementation of development projects, in a way that enhances investment opportunities, supports sustainable development, and contributes to improving the quality of life for citizens.

For his part, the Authority reported, the Bangladeshi ambassador expressed his appreciation for the level of relations between the two countries, stressing his country's readiness to enhance cooperation with Libya and contribute to the implementation of development projects that serve common interests and support development efforts in the southern region.
