The General Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce announced yesterday that its President, Mohamed Raied, received the Ambassador of Singapore at its Tripoli headquarters last Sunday 8 February.
The meeting was also attended by the Union’s Advisor for International Relations, several business leaders, and Union staff members.
Raied emphasized that Libya is a safe country with promising investment opportunities, being a untapped land rich in potential for economic cooperation across numerous sectors.
Singapore desires to resume economic relations
For his part, the General Union reported that the Ambassador expressed his country’s desire to resume economic relations between the two countries and to open new avenues for cooperation in several economic fields, in addition to training and capacity building.
Reciprocal visits between Libyan and Singaporean businesspeople to be organised
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their desire to maintain communication and coordination by organizing reciprocal visits between Libyan and Singaporean businesspeople, in a manner that serves the interests and economies of both countries.
