Abdel Sadig holds meetings with Shell and Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum at Qatar’s LNG 2026 conference

Libya and Shell discuss several areas of cooperation

Libya’s Acting Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdel Sadig, held several talks at the 21st edition of LNG 2026 held in Doha, Qatar from 2-5 February. Abdel Sadig had received an official invitation from the Minister of State for Energy Affairs in Qatar, and his attendance came within the framework of strengthening Libya’s presence in international forums related to the energy sector.‎

‎Talks with CEO of Shell
The Minister began his participation by holding talks with the CEO of Shell, Wael Sawan, on following up on the company’s work in Libya. They discussed the prospects of developing cooperation and future business plans in the gas and energy sectors, in a way that contributes to supporting international partnerships and enhancing investments in this vital sector.‎

Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum
Abdel Sadiq also met with the Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Philippe Michelbella, where the two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the gas sector and the outcomes of the Libya-Africa 2025 Forum.
