The Tripoli based Libyan Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, discussed yesterday with Chargé d’affaires at the Chadian Embassy Bashir Treebo Abboud ways to strengthen relations between Libya and Chad especially in the field of transport.
Direct flights and the Transit Trade Road
Al-Shahoubi expressed his ministry’s readiness to enhance cooperation, noting the importance of resuming direct flights between the two countries, in addition to discussing the strategic road project linking northern and southern Libya to Niger and Chad, which would enhance regional economic cooperation (Transit Trade).
Preparing a memorandum of understanding
For his part, Abboud expressed his country’s desire to develop cooperation, resume flights, and coordinate work at joint land border crossings, and suggested holding a meeting between the minister and his Chadian counterpart to prepare a memorandum of understanding that includes various aspects of cooperation in the transport sector.
