Three fuel tankers have docked or are expected to dock at Tripoli, Misrata and Zawia ports by the end of today to bring an end ‘‘within the next few days’’ to the current fuel shortage crisis, Brega Petroleum Marketing Company said today.

Fuel tanker Anwaar Afriqya docked at Tripoli Port about midday today with 30 million litres of fuel. Brega said it will start pumping operations for transport vehicles to supply petrol stations directly from the pier.

At about the same time, fuel tanker VS Spirit docked at Misrata port with about 25 million litres of fuel.

Meanwhile, fuel tanker Asha with about 40 million litres of fuel is now being unloaded at Zawia Oil Port, Brega reported.

Brega Chairman suspended
It will be recalled that a fuel shortage over the last four days has led to huge car queues on Tripoli’s streets resulting in the chairman of Brega Petroleum Marketing Company being suspended by the Tripoli based Libyan prime minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba.
