The eastern based Libyan Government, headed by Osama Hamad, announced today a state of “force majeure” on all oil fields, ports, institutions and facilities and the suspension of oil production and export until further notice.
This came in a statement against the backdrop of the Tripoli based Central Bank of Libya (CBL) crisis and the ‘‘forceful’’ takeover of the CBL.
The eastern based Libyan government said that it is following with great interest the repeated attacks on the leaders, employees and departments of the Tripoli CBL by outlaw groups, instigated and assisted by the imposter Presidential Council.
It added that these attacks and attempts to forcibly enter the bank’s headquarters resulted in stopping and obstructing the entire conduct of the state’s financial transactions and led to harm to citizens in general.
The Libyan government stressed that these attacks would expose the national economy to rapid collapse.
