Libya’s Tika Construction Chemicals, a growing enterprise founded in Benghazi, has quickly established itself as a key player in the construction chemicals market.

Since launching operations in 2023 with its first production line of tile adhesives, the company has made significant strides in both local and international markets. These tile adhesives are engineered for securing ceramic and porcelain tiles, suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Spanish partners
Leveraging cutting-edge technology and technical expertise from top Spanish partners, Tika has swiftly risen to prominence, contributing to vital construction projects such as the reconstruction of Benghazi University and the rehabilitation efforts in Derna following severe flooding.

Expansion
Expanding its footprint, Tika has opened distribution outlets across Libya in cities including Tripoli, Benghazi, Misrata, Beida, Derna, and Tobruk. This expansion underscores the company’s commitment to making its products accessible throughout the country.

Achieving European Quality Mark and ISO-9001
In recognition of its uncompromising quality standards, Tika Construction Chemicals has earned the prestigious European Quality Mark (CE Stamp) after rigorous testing at ApplusLabs in Spain. Additionally, the company has achieved the ISO-9001 Quality Management Certificate, reaffirming its dedication to quality and excellence.

First export to EU
On the international front, Tika recently celebrated its first export—a 20-foot container to Malta. This marks the beginning of an annual commitment to export between 18 to 20 containers to Malta over the next 12 months, in addition to the plan to grow its international footprint to other markets in the region.

Showcasing at exhibitions
Tika has showcased its innovations at numerous construction exhibitions within Libya and internationally, including this month’s Libya Build and the renowned BIG5 exhibition in Dubai. The company is also engaging with potential international clients to further expand its export operations. Introducing Germa and Xtreme Brand Tile Adhesives.

Germa and Xtreme brands
Tika proudly produces two distinct brands of tile adhesives: Germa: Named after the historic southern Libyan town renowned for its ancient ruins and artisanal heritage, Germa adhesive symbolizes durability and quality. This local brand offers an economical yet reliable range of adhesives, reflecting the strength and endurance of Germa’s famed ruins.

Xtreme: Inspired by the robustness of the Spanish bull and designed for extreme conditions, Xtreme adhesive meets the most demanding tiling needs. Manufactured in Libya, this brand combines Spanish resilience with Libyan craftsmanship, ensuring a product capable of withstanding rigorous applications.

Both brands, Tika say, exemplify Tika’s commitment to quality and innovation, drawing on cultural symbols and local manufacturing prowess to deliver superior construction solutions. It says that as it continues to grow, it aims to set new standards in the construction chemical industry both domestically and abroad.
