AmCham Libya organises several meetings in Tripoli for U.S. Embassy Commercial Officer

AmCham Libya leading Libyan delegation to 2024 World of Concrete Tradeshow in Las Vegas, 23-25 January

AmCham Libya informed Libya Herald that it had organised several meetings for the U.S. Embassy Commercial Officer between 22 and 23 April.

Oil & Gas
The U.S. Embassy Commercial and Economic Officer, David Morrison, met on 22 April with the AmCham Libya Oil & Gas Working Group.

AmCham Members that participated included Halliburton, SLB, Caterpillar and Hill International.  The Commercial and Economic Officer shared with the group current initiatives of the Embassy, and the members shared their perspectives on current challenges and opportunities being faced in the sector in Libya.

Healthcare
Also on 22 April, the Embassy Commercial and Economic Officer met with the AmCham Libya Healthcare Working Group.

AmCham Members that were represented included MSD, AbbVie and Medtronic. Local company members included NTM Healthcare and Oyavet.

The Embassy Commercial and Economic Officer shared with the group current initiatives of the Embassy, and the members shared their experiences promoting U.S. healthcare products in Libya and gave suggestions as to how commercial activities can be supported.

HB Group
Finally, on 23 April, the U.S. Embassy Commercial and Economic Officer met with a group of companies from the HB Group.

HB Group is active in almost all sectors within Libya and is the country’s largest private employer. Some of the HB Group companies are AmCham Libya members.

Given their scope of activities, AmCham said, they were able to provide valuable insight on commercial activities in Libya and suggestions on how to increase the engagement of U.S. companies.
