With the support of the Department of Support and Development of Medical Services (DSDMS), the Department of Orthopaedic and Joint Surgery at the Misrata Medical Centre performed last Wednesday the first joint replacement operations to be conducted at the centre.

Six artificial joints operations were successfully completed, which the DSDMS said were supplied from the most prominent international companies and leaders in the artificial joints industries.

The DSDMS says it is noteworthy that it continues to perform operations to replace artificial joints in various centres and public hospitals, for cases registered through the branch offices responsible for receiving treatment requests from the public.

This comes as part of the Tripoli based Libyan government’s wider policy of localisation of health treatment within Libya.
