Libyan Iron and Steel to visit UK to explore collaborative prospects with British steel industry

The Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) is to embarks on a landmark visit to the UK to explore collaborative prospects with British Steel Industry, the British Libyan Business Association (BLBA) informed Libya Herald.

‘‘In an effort to redefine and reshape the dynamics of international steel relations, LISCO, a front-runner in African steel manufacturing – has announced a pivotal visit to the United Kingdom set for spring 2024’’, the BLBA explained.

Driven by the ambition to cultivate partnerships and uncover new ventures in the steel arena, LISCO’s trip promises to be more than just a diplomatic gesture. The visit stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to harness the UK’s advanced expertise, technological innovations, and rich resources within the steel industry, it added.

This collaborative venture is supported by the UK Department of Business and Trade (DBT) and will be orchestrated in close coordination with the BLBA.

The overarching objective is to explore opportunities and cooperation that will deliver mutual growth and advancement for both countries. Top of the agenda items are the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, the increasing of ramping up of infrastructure capabilities, laying down the foundations for revolutionary production methodologies, empowerment and upskilling of Libyan professionals, and the pursuit of operational excellence.
