Jufra Municipality announced yesterday that the UNDP had handed over a solar project to generate electricity.
It reported that this project is considered important in producing electricity to operate the water wells at the Shajar station in Soukna. Solar electricity will avoid interruption of water pumping in the event of a power outage.
The municipality reported that the project included training several engineers from the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), the municipal Water and Sanitation Company, and several renewable energy students.
