Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced today that the technical teams of its subsidiary, Nafusah Oil Operations Company, a joint operating company with Indonesia’s PT Medco Energi International (EPSA contract area 47), were able to raise production at well A-4 to 1,500 to 2,000 barrels per day.

The NOC said the quantities of oil produced from the well are scheduled to be transferred to the Tahara field of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), and then pumped to Zawia port.

The NOC revealed that the small site production station was supplied through Al Jowfe Company, and that oil will continue to be pumped from the well for six months. During this period, pressure rates and crude oil purity will be monitored, and the necessary technical information will be collected. Pressure and flow rate measuring equipment will also be installed at the bottom of the well.

The work of installing well complexes, extending the sub-assembly line and the main shipping line is progressing well, the NOC added, explaining that it is expected that the shipping line will be completed and linked to the El Feel Oil Line (Mellitah Oil and Gas Company) in December 2023. The ready wells will be put on production gradually to reach a production rate of 10,000 barrels per day, after the installation of the early production station by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
