The Deputy Director General of the Tax Authority, Omar Al-Zaroug, and his accompanying delegation, attended the workshop entitled ‘‘A Comparative Study of the Legal Base for Data Security and Protection’’.

The workshop was attended by several competent authorities, the Tax Authority reported, represented by the General Authority for Documentation and Information, the General Authority for Communications, the National Authority for Information Security and Safety, the Documentation and Information Centre at the Ministry of Finance, the Customs Authority, the Central Bank of Libya, the Ministry of Economy and Trade, and a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During this workshop, the Tax Authority reported, views were exchanged on the legal environment for data protection and its suitability to move forward for the development and digitization of procedures in Libyan institutions, leading to some targeted results and recommendations, which will be the subject of meetings in the coming period.
