The Tunisian Centre Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie du centre) received in Sousse a delegation of Libyan businessmen from the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, headed by Misrata Chamber’s chairman, Fathi Al-Amin Al-Turki, from 10 to 13 May.
The Central Chamber reported that the visit aimed to support prospects for cooperation and partnership between businessmen from the two countries, to raise the pace of trade in various fields as well as encourage investment in both countries.
The programme of the visit included the organization of Tunisian-Libyan business and partnership meetings on Thursday, May 11, at the headquarters of the Centre Chamber in Sousse, which enabled the participating Tunisian institutions fruitful bilateral cooperation.
Several sectors discussed
The meetings covered several areas, including packaging for food products, cement, gypsum and ceramics, raw materials for the aluminium industry, plastics, engineering and architectural design.
Cooperation agreement signed
A cooperation agreement was signed between the Central Chamber and the Misrata Chamber with the aim of devoting bilateral cooperation relations to support partnership and trade between businessmen in the Central region and their counterparts in Misrata, exchanging business visits and exchanging experiences,
Within the framework of this visit, the members of the Libyan delegation paid a visit to the headquarters of the state of Sousse on Thursday, May 11, 2023. A meeting was held with Mr. Nabil Ferjani, the Governor of Sousse, in the presence of the Secretary General of the state and Mr. Najib Al-Mallouli, head of the Center Chamber, during which they discussed the embodiment of the Tunisian-Libyan relations on the level of investments and work to overcome the difficulties and problems faced by businessmen from both countries.
During this visit, the members of the Libyan delegation also made field visits to industrial establishments in the states of Kairouan and Sousse to see the economic fabric of the central region.
