The UNDP Libya reported yesterday that it has launched a new Local Peacebuilding and Resilience programme for the East of Libya.
It reports that together with the Benghazi and Derna Construction Fund, the Municipalities, the Ministry of Local Government and the Ministry of Planning, the programme aims to restore trust between citizens and institutions, and among citizens themselves. This will be done by supporting local institutions to deliver critical services and promote local economic recovery, particularly for women and youth.
Through this programme, the UNDP said it will support local authorities, CSOs, and the private sector to contribute meaningfully to local peacebuilding and development processes.
The programme will enable implementation of the Master Plan for the City of Benghazi, and the Development Plan of Derna and Ajdabya.
