The UNDP reports that since September 2022, together with Toyota Libya, more than 70 Libyan graduates have been trained and empowered. This was through three-month car maintenance training and online customer relations courses.

It says it is partnering with Toyota Libya to boost job opportunities for young graduates across the country through support from the European Union Africa Trust Fund.

The UNDP explained that selected trainees are now furthering their skills through on-job training at Toyota dealers in Tripoli, Benghazi, Misrata, Zliten, and Al Beida, increasing their chances of being employed or starting their own businesses.

It adds that youth job creation is at the heart of its Local Peacebuilding and Resilience efforts, implemented in coordination with Ministry of Local Government. The UNDP stressed that strong partnerships with the private sector are essential in ensuring that youth are central to Libya’s economic recovery.
