Tatweer Research announced Tuesday that, in cooperation with the World Food Programme, it is currently conducting a study of the agricultural sector in the Fezzan region through an assessment of 6,750 farms.
The study covers agricultural practices, economic challenges, livestock production, and financial services used in agricultural markets.
Tatweer says the Fezzan project comes on the back of the success of the AgriTec project to support farmers in the Kufra region launched last November .
Tatweer explains that farmers in Libya contribute to the development of one of the sustainable sectors that the country needs. Seeking to develop research to diversify the Libyan economy and empower the workforce, Tatweer and WFP launched the AgriTec project, which aimed to support farmers in the municipality of Kufra using solar energy.
