The Mayor of Ghadames Municipality, Gasim Al-Manaa, said that the Ghadames-Al-Debdeb land border crossing with Algeria is fully equipped and ready to reopen.

Quoted by several Libyan media sources, Al-Manaa said he will meet with the Tripoli-based Libyan government led by Aldabaiba Monday to study the final arrangements, and what the Libyan side needs from the Algerian side in terms of procedures before the opening of the crossing.

He said there will be a meeting next week with the Algerian side in Ghadames to put final arrangements into effect, and to set a deadline for the opening of the crossing.

It must be kept in mind, however, that there have been several numerous announcements of the imminent opening of the border crossing, without fruition.
