According to Central Bank of Libya data for the first quarter of 2022, the top recipient countries of Libyan exports, of which oil exports represent 96 percent, are headed by Italy. Here are the top five:
- Italy – US$ 2.3 billion
- Germany – US$ 1 billion and 94 million.
- Spain – US$ 1 billion and 37 million.
- China – US$ 844 million.
- The United States – US$ 614 million
Meanwhile, according to the same data and for the same period, the top exporters to Libya are headed by Turkey:
- Turkey – US$ 856 million
- China – US$ 460 million
- Italy – US$ 415 million
- Greece – US$ 321 million
These are followed by Belgium, Spain and the Netherlands, Germany, South Korea and the United States of America.
