London, 2 October 2021:

UNICEF reported Wednesday that 50,800 people in the Bar Al-Shatti municipality will benefit from access to safe water services through water pumps it provided in its support to the General Company of Water and Wastewater in the municipality.

In addition to four water pumps, the municipality also received accessories that included three submersible wastewater pumps and two mobile/trailer wastewater pumps, to support the areas other areas.

The project is funded through the contribution of the European Union Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF) which UNICEF said will ensure that an increased number of people in need in Libya will gain access to safe water, thus safeguarding public health and going a long way towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
