London, 27 July 2021:

Following its Sunday announcement of a partial curfew in unspecified Coronavirus hotspots from 6pm to 6 am, the Libyan government yesterday issued decree 228/21 declaring a curfew for two weeks within the municipalities of the central region, the municipalities of Greater Tripoli, the municipalities of the West Coast and the municipalities of the Western Mountain, starting today.

The decree says the curfew will continue after the end of the two-week period, unless a decision is issued to extend, amend or cancel it.

Commenting on the decision, the Ministry of Interior warned citizens of the need to adhere to the curfew hours to preserve the health and safety of everyone from the pandemic.
