London, 26 July 2021:
Libya’s Ministry of Health reported yesterday that the first set of Libyan children set off from Benghazi’s Benina airport to Egypt for treatment for cleft lip and cleft palate.
A total of 30 children are expected to be sent for the free treatment in Egypt.
The Ministry reported that this comes as part of the initiative in cooperation with the Drawing Smile Organization, Operation Smile Foundation and Assiut University, with the participation of several surgeons and specialists in plastic surgery, anaesthesia, paediatrics, dentistry, speech, nursing and other specialties.
These specialists hail from different countries of the world, including the U.S., Italy, Sweden, and Canada – with the participation of the Egyptian medical team, as well as doctors from Libya.
