Al-Hadba Al-Khadra General Hospital announced yesterday that for first time since its establishment, and through catheterization operations for arteries in its Cardiac Catheterization Unit for heart disease, a delicate operation for therapeutic catheterization of congenital heart abnormalities was successfully conducted last Sunday (2 May).
The hospital reported that the operation was conducted on a 45-year-old woman who was suffering from a hole between the atria which was repaired with a plug through the catheter and without the need for open heart surgery.
