The Deputy Transport Ministers of Libya and Tunisia met yesterday at the Ministry in Tripoli within the framework of completing economic integration between the two countries and to open a new economic page. This comes on the back of recent bilateral visits by high profile politicians.
The visit by the Deputy Tunisian Transport Minister and his delegation come on the occasion of the inauguration of the Tunisair Express line between Sfax, Tunisia and Tripoli, Libya.
The meeting confirmed that work was underway to inaugurate a marine line between the two countries and operating buses between the two countries.
It was also agreed that there is a need for a field visit to the Libyan-Tunisian Ras Ajdir land border crossing by the respective Ministers to see first-hand the problems facing their work and in the presence of all the agencies working in the borders, as well as the mayors of the municipalities adjacent to the Libyan-Tunisian borders from both sides.
The meeting also agreed to form a joint committee between the two parties to follow up the plan to be implemented to facilitate movement and to solve the problems they may face.
