E-payments collection system for government fees discussed

Libya’s Economy and Finance Ministries are piloting e-payments systems for government fees  (Logo: GNU).

London, 27 May 2021:

The Ministry of Economy and Trade and Ministry of Finance discussed a mechanism for electronic payment of government fees.

At their joint meeting. which included Libya’s major providers of electronic payment services, Al-Madar, Masarat, Tadawul and Tafani, a proposal for an electronic collection system for government fees and how to link it to the systems of service providers was discussed.

A pilot project aiming in its first phase to introduce electronic payment and payment of fees into the general Commercial Registry system at the Ministry of Economy and Trade and to implement the procedures related to the issuance of the Negative Certificate and the renewal of the Commercial Register electronically – were reviewed.

This system also aims to addresses the delay in the traditional payment system through sub-cashiers in the deposit of monies to the central accounts of the Ministry Financial.
